Total Retail Group
Website Design & Development
Summary
Total Retail Group has built a strong reputation over nearly two decades through industry relationships, deep retail expertise, and a highly knowledgeable team supporting manufacturers across the home-improvement retail landscape. The current website communicates the basics of who TRG is and what the company does, but it has remained largely unchanged since 2018 and today functions primarily as a digital reference card rather than an active business and marketing resource.
Recent security and maintenance concerns with the current custom WordPress environment have also highlighted the need for a more stable, secure, and sustainable platform. The current site relies on custom code within WordPress, creating concern that future updates could cause functionality to break.
DynamiX will redesign and rebuild Total Retail Group on Octane, creating a modern digital presence that better reflects the strength of the company, makes its expertise easier to understand, and provides a foundation for sharing insights, generating opportunities, and connecting employees and clients with TRG's growing library of tools and resources.
The project will also incorporate TRG Shared Space as a secondary website experience, giving the business a simple, professional destination for prospective tenants while keeping both digital properties within the same DynamiX and Octane ecosystem.
Site Goals
-
Create a modern, stable website that better reflects Total Retail Group's expertise, team, and nearly two decades of experience in the home-improvement retail industry.
Make the website easier for prospects to understand, navigate, and use while giving TRG a practical platform for sharing insights, resources, and thought leadership.
Bring Total Retail Group and TRG Shared Space onto a more secure, manageable platform that can grow with both businesses without requiring constant technical maintenance.
The Big Goal:
Build a modern, stable digital platform that better communicates TRG’s expertise, supports future growth, and is easy for the team to manage.
The Big Challenges We Plan To Solve For
Site Speed and Codebase
The Total Retail Group's current score of a 67/100 on mobile is a major challenge to the site's ranking and performance, and will likely impact site traffic heavily in a negative way today.
Modernizing the Look & Feel
An outdated website can quietly undermine credibility, even when the underlying business is strong. As part of our work together, we will modernize the look and feel of the site to better reflect the quality, professionalism, and relevance of Total Retail Group today. This includes updating visual patterns, layout systems, and interactions to create a cleaner, more confident experience that aligns with current user expectations while remaining flexible enough to evolve over time.
Pages Indexed By Google
Total Retail Group currently has 38 indexed pages identified in our internal review, while Google shows approximately 78 URLs, with the difference largely consisting of non-indexed and permanently moved pages.
TRG Shared Space has 10 indexed pages by Google and confirmed by our internal review.
During pre-development, our team will review the content across both sites and recommend which pages should be retained, improved, consolidated, redirected, or removed before incorporating them into the new site experiences.

Evolve Build
TRG Shared Space
Performance Upgrade
TRG Shared Space will be completed as a Performance Upgrade, separate from the Total Retail Group website rebuild. Rather than redesigning the site, DynamiX will migrate the existing TRG Shared Space experience to Octane while preserving its current design, structure, content, and overall functionality.
Our internal review identified 18 indexed pages, while Google currently shows approximately 10 pages. As part of the migration, DynamiX will review the existing site structure, transition the appropriate pages and content to Octane, and ensure the site is properly configured for launch.
The result will be the same familiar TRG Shared Space website on a more stable, secure, and manageable platform, with the performance, hosting, support, and ongoing platform updates provided through Octane.
Timeline Of An Evolve Build
Taking a Build, Launch Refine Approach
Based on our discussion and the current state of your site, our aim is to rapidly create an experience that is similar in content to your current website, but that can be quickly moved forward as new content is created between our two teams.
This process is outlined below, and is optimal for search engine efficacy.
Build
Typical Timeline: 2 Weeks
Our aim is to create a core site experience designed for both today and the future, adding the ability to create additional layouts over time via our Layout Store. We will be leveraging native features to keep costs and timeline as brief as possible.
Launch
Typical Timeline: 2 Weeks
As soon as the site is in a place where we have content equivalence, we will launch the new site experience so that Google has time to re-index, and to allow search engines to see your new content as it is added to the site experience.
Refine
If And As Needed
Now that the site is live, we can optionally focus on adding additional concepts to the site experience, such as a deeper home page story, additional photography/videography from your team and deeper details on what makes your business stand out.
