New Website Development

Summary

Melvin Music is a long-time client of DynamiX (via Allgood Plumbing way back in 2012!!!), and came to us with his new venture Keep Smiling Plumbing, Electric, Heating and Cooling. Knowing that the business has just started into heating and air and is likely to grow and evolve heavily over the next six months, we thought we would start this build with our core "native" capabilities to speed your time to launch and provide a strong foundation.

If during the pre-development and design stages there are additional ideas to execute on, we can discuss those at that time. We will also be introducing our friends at RedBrick for SEO and content optimization.

Taking a Build, Launch Refine Approach

Based on our discussion and the disconnect between what the current site shows and your strengths today, our aim is to rapidly create an experience that is similar in content to your current website, but that can be quickly moved forward as new content is created between our two teams.

This process is outlined below, and is optimal for search engine efficacy.

Build

28 Days

Our aim is to create a core site experience designed for both today and the future, adding the ability to create additional layouts over time via our Layout Store. We will be leveraging native features to keep costs and timeline as brief as possible.

Launch

5 Days

As soon as the site is in a place where we have content equivalence, we will launch the new site experience so that Google has time to re-index, and to allow search engines to see your new content as it is added to the site experience.

21 Days

Now that the site is live, we will focus on adding additional concepts to the site experience including a deeper home page story, additional photography/videography from your team and deeper details on what makes your business stand out.

Site Styler

As you saw during our call together, Octane's Site Styler allows for sweeping changes to the look and feel of the site experience, as well as smaller, nuance changes where appropriate. This will be night and day compared to your current experience, and dramatically better, faster and more nimble than any Wordpress or similar builder out there.

Layout Store

A brand new feature of our Octane software is the new Layout Store. This technology is designed to allow your team to add new features to the site without needing our support, both to fill in small gaps in areas and for broader and more interesting capabilities. As part of our work together on the new site, our team will integrate all current Layout Store layouts into the new site, currently over 150 components which can be utilized by our team or yours to continue expanding the site well into the future.

SEO Explorer

Our exclusive SEO explorer lets you know where you stand in real time, pointing out issues on pages across the website. We use it when building the site, and you'll have access to keep it moving forward as content is added.

Audit Trail

We consider Octane to be a "single source of truth" for how a site is being worked on and improved over time, and have designed many features into the platform that allow for easy access to data that can assist in decision making and understanding.

Input-Based: See any adjustments made to an input on a given page simply by clicking on the history tool. You can use this area to revise back to a previous version as well simply by clicking on the text and confirming!
Page-Based: Want to see what changes have been made to a given page? This lives next to each page and shows every adjustment since the moment the page was made.
Global Trail: The left navigation bar includes a link to the site's global audit trail, which provides all changes made to the site and lets you filter by user.

Site Speed

Octane is designed to allow for lightning fast page loads and optimization at scale, ensuring your site loads quickly for visitors at all times.

301 Redirector

We've developed our one of a kind Redirect Explorer, designed to allow your team and ours to ensure that all pages of the original website are fully accounted for in the new experience.

Octane Form Builder

Our Form Builder allows you to customize form inputs, choose where you want submissions sent, and integrates with Google Sheets for easy onramp into other platforms.

Octane AI Tool

Leveraging the latest in artificial intelligence technology, Octane has been designed to augment your team's content needs directly within each individual page.

Built-In Photo & Icon Library

As part of Octane's core feature set, we provide access to thousands of photos, icons and illustrations that are available in any image region of the site.

Site Design

Our team will create the new site's look and feel for you based on our discussions, with an aim for creating a visually engaging experience that helps your business stand out. We will be utilizing core capabilities including our Site Styler and Layout Store to create the new site look and feel for you.

Native Asset Build

To reduce costs and expedite your project timeline, we will utilize built in capabilities called "Native Assets." These include layouts, such as a CTA bar, multi column list, content and image, image galleries, and more. Our team will place your new content into these native assets and our designer will style them according to your brand guidelines.

In addition, we suggest revising your pricing layouts to be more streamlined, which we will discuss together!

Migrating Site Content

There are currently 122 pages on the website according to our site scan. Our team will migrate all relevant content for you, as well as creating all redirects. In the process, there are several pages we recommend either expanding on or removing, and will share our thoughts with Alex and the RedBrick team or your SEO firm of choice.

Deeper Inclusion of Schedule Engine

In a fun example of "small world," DynamiX developed the Schedule Engine website, and will work to ensure it is better integrated into your calls to action on the new site experience.

Setting a Foundation For Future

At your current stage, we aren't considering much in the way of "shiny" features for the site like 3D components, calculators etc. But the site will be designed so that when and if that becomes worthwhile, it will be a natural and straightforward process for us to design and create those features for you. As your company grows, we can regroup at any time to brainstorm and scope additional features if desired. If any form integrations are required outside of Schedule Engine, these will also be scoped as part of any additional custom development.

FULL Layout Store Access

Octane's new Layout Store is a phenomenal technology stack designed to allow your site to do more without needing us to create custom components. Currently there are over 170 layouts inside the store, and more are being added regularly.

Normally our team adds just the layouts needed for the current site, but based on our 12-year history together we will be including the FULL layout store experience alongside the ability to add new layouts yourself directly.
