The site currently does nothing to direct visitors to the right product for their customer segment (automotive, etc). As part of our work together, we will assist in creating a navigational structure that showcases your core audience segments, alongside a "know what you're looking for?" type approach for getting visitors into the core five product offerings.

The site right now doesn't make any mention of emergency service, though it's a big focus based on our conversation. We will help bring this to the forefront, and emphasize that your team will respond to emergency need 24/7.

As you shared in the brief, most customers are looking for a partnership for their needs. For customers to feel heard, you mentioned wanting an automated chat feature and a Q&A section. We can incorporate both in the new website experience, so that people can easily find answers to their questions and connect with your team.

Showcasing Your Scale

As you mentioned, JoeTools is predominately U.S. based, but will be expanding into new markets. To accommodate all customers, a multi-language will be present on your site via Google Translate, using the native language feature present on users' chosen browser. Browsers will translate the site based on the language settings that the user already has in place, so that they can read the site in their native language. This will be helpful as you expand your territories abroad and you have the need to reach people outside of your current market.

3D Discussion

We discussed a range of ideas for 3D, but didn't land on a final approach here. As such, our plan is that if we can leverage one of the handful of embed capability engines such as ModelViewer (https://modelviewer.dev/), we will incorporate it without charge. If we need to create custom 3D assets or heavily rework, we can do so at our hourly rate.

We consider Octane to be a "single source of truth" for how a site is being worked on and improved over time, and have designed many features into the platform that allow for easy access to data that can assist in decision making and understanding.

  • Input-Based: See any adjustments made to an input on a given page simply by clicking on the history tool. You can use this area to revise back to a previous version as well simply by clicking on the text and confirming!
  • Page-Based: Want to see what changes have been made to a given page? This lives next to each page and shows every adjustment since the moment the page was made.
  • Global Trail: The left navigation bar includes a link to the site's global audit trail, which provides all changes made to the site and lets you filter by user.

Image Mapper 

To simplify your technical products, we will build an interactive image mapper where you will be able to place points on specific parts of your products. Users can click for additional information about that part. Not only will this help relieve confusion about products, this feature will engage users in a way that motivates them to keep diving deeper into your site.

Multi-Language Feature

To reach your audience outside of the United States, your new site will use the standard browser functionality for multi-language translation. Google does not support a language toggle anymore and the website best practice is to use the browser's native translation feature.
